Children & Youth

Child Care

On Sunday mornings, our youngest children (infants through 4 years old) join in the fun in the nursery in rooms 100-A and B, supervised by our regular Nursery Staff. The nursery opens at 9:30am to allow parents to participate in choir practice or attend the Adult Free Inquiry class. After worship, we request that only a parent or designated adult pick up children.

Sunday School

3_HerbPlanting_2013Children preschool age and older are invited to Sunday School classes immediately following the children’s message, Sharing the Story of God’s Love, held in the front of the sanctuary during worship. After the children’s message, the children will be led from the sanctuary to their classrooms where our first-time visitors and longtime friends grow in faith.

Children are always welcome in worship, too! Activity pads are available in the narthex for ages 4 and up. And if your child is a bit shy, feel free to accompany them to the front of the sanctuary for the children’s message.

Sunday School is offered for children from preschool to high school from September to June. Lower and middle elementary school children (age 3 – 4th grade) use the Grow, Proclaim and Serve curriculum. Upper elementary (5th-8th grade) use the Connect curriculum and Re:Form Ancestors N.T.

During the summer (June-August), children continue to receive Christian Education, following a modified, melded class curriculum.

Children’s Christian Education Program

The Children’s Christian Education Program encourages children and their families to grow in their faith and be involved in the larger church community. Our Children’s Christian Education Program uses The BibleWorship, and Missions as focal points to teach children in all age groups how The Bible is an important part of spirituality. We also encourage children to examine why we do what we do in worship, learn new ways of showing God’s love to others and our environment, encounter God’s Word, praise God, and show God’s love to others in a deeper and more profound way.

Families are also involved in service projects, community meals, and fun field trips. Both member families and visiting families are welcomed to join in any and all Christian Education activities.
