Meet Our Newest Members

Ray Kim came to Western looking for community and has found it with other young adults in the congregation. Originally from Los Angelos, Ray came to DC for the Ph.D. program in Theology and Religious Studies at Georgetown. He enjoys gardening, taking care of hermit crabs, singing, and music. Ray hopes to continue building community among young adults at Western.

Becky Koenig came to Western in search of a church actively carrying out Jesus’ radical love where she could get involved more. Becky grew up in Springfield, VA and came to DC for work and family ties. She is a reporter at US News & World Report and enjoys writing, music, tutoring, and theater. Becky hopes to get involved at Western through music, missions, or theological discussions and worships with her fiancé, Andy DeSoto.

Lowrey Redmond was married by Western’s pastor and has stayed for the mission and community. Originally from Bronxville, NY, Lowrey came to DC for a professional opportunity. She enjoys cooking and book club. Lowrey hopes to get involved with the children’s choir and mission trips. She worships at Western with her husband, Leif, and children, Adele and Mabel.

Gregg Pitman came to Western to find a community brought together by faith. He’s lived in Grand Rapids, MI and State College, PA and moved to DC after graduation, working as a contract specialist. Gregg enjoys hiking, camping, and working with his hands on DIY projects. Initially introduced to faith through service projects and volunteering with his youth groups, Gregg continues to grow in his faith by serving others. Here at Western, Gregg helps with hospitality hour and events like Christmas decorating and movie nights. Gregg and his partner, Shane, split their time between Western and St. Augustine Catholic Church.
