Making a Pledge

What is a pledge?

A pledge is a commitment that an individual or family makes to the church for their giving in the coming year. Pledges are usually collected in the fall for the following year’s budget.

By pledging, you let the church leadership know what your intention for giving is. This knowledge helps them to plan an informed budget because they don’t have to guess what you will give — you’ve told them, to the best of your ability. Of course, life happens. Pledges are not legally binding and can be adjusted if circumstances change.

How do I make a pledge?

There are three ways to make a pledge:

How do I view my pledge?

  1. Login to CCB
  2. Click the Give menu on the left
  3. Click on the Pledges tab
  • View your pledge total, recent gifts toward your pledge, and the remaining balance
  • Print your Pledge statement
  • View other family member pledges as well

How do I edit or increase my pledge?

There are three ways to make a pledge:

  • Online
  • By Email
    • Email Nancy Kiefer, Assistant Treasurer with the new amount and frequency of your pledge.
  • On Paper
    • Pick up a Stewardship Card at church and return it in the offering plate, by mail, or to the office. Check off the option to increase your pledge and fill in the amount and frequency.

Does increasing my pledge also increase my online giving?

No, increasing your pledge only communicates your intentions to the church. You will need to update your online giving through CCB (see below) or your bank.


Online Giving

Where do I make a donation online?

There are many ways to get to the online giving portal:

  • Click here to go to our online giving portal directly. (You can login on this page by clicking Login in the upper right corner.)
  • In CCB, login and then click Give on the left menu.
  • By text message, text WESTERNPC to 77977Msg & Data rates may apply.
  • In our App, click Give Online

Is online giving secure?

Yes. We use Pushpay for our secure, online giving in CCB. Learn more about Pushpay’s security features. Learn more about CCB’s security features.

Do I have to login to make a donation?

  • No, you do not need to create a login for one time donations.
  • However, to setup a repeating gift, you will need to login. If you have not created an account on CCB, click the “Sign Up” option on the login page.

How do I make a one-time donation?

  1. Click here to go directly to our online giving portal.
  2. Choose One Time Gift
  3. Set the Designation:
    1. Are you giving towards your pledge? 
      1. Yes – choose Pledges-Undesignated-2018
      2. No – choose Open Plate
  4. Set the Amount
  5. Click Continue to go to the payment screen

How do I make a one-time donation scheduled for a future date?

This requires being logged into CCB.

  1. Login to CCB
  2. Click the Give menu on the left
  3. Choose Repeating Gift
  4. Set the Designation:
    • Are you giving towards your pledge? 
      • Yes – choose Pledges-Undesignated-2018
      • No – choose Open Plate
  5. Set the Amount and choose any Frequency (there will only be one transaction)
  6. Enter the Date you want to schedule the transaction for.
  7. Under Continue Until, choose __ Gifts have been made, and enter “1“.

How do I setup a recurring donation?

This requires being logged into CCB.

  1. Login to CCB
  2. Click the Give menu on the left
  3. Set your gift details:
    1. Choose Repeating Gift
    2. Set the Designation:
      • Are you giving towards your pledge? 
        • Yes – choose Pledges-Undesignated-2018
        • No – choose Open Plate
    3. Set the Amount and choose your desired Frequency
    4. Enter the Date for the first gift.
    5. Under Continue Until, choose how long you want the gift to repeat.
    6. Click Continue
  4. Set your payment method:
    1. Next, select Checking Account or Debit/Credit Card by clicking the Payment Type line
    2. Your contact information is loaded from your profile
    3. Make any changes necessary

  • For Debit/Credit Card gifts:
    • Enter your card info
    • The Save Information check box is only available for one-time gifts

  • For Checking Account gifts,
    • Enter your checking account information
    • Here again, the Save Information check box is only available for one-time gifts
    • Remember – ACH gifts normally take 2–3 days to process completely so plan end of year giving accordingly

4. Click Continue to go to the confirmation page

How do I view my repeating gift?

  1. Login to CCB
  2. Click the Give menu on the left
  3. Click on the Schedules/History tab
    • Primary Contacts and Spouses can view repeating gifts and transactions for their family members via the Family view tab

How do I edit my repeating gift?

Currently, it is not possible to edit any part of a repeating gift. If you need to change a repeating gift, you will need to:

  1. Cancel/Stop the current repeating gift (see below)
  2. Create a new repeating gift with the changes you would like to make

How do I cancel my repeating gift?

  1. Login to CCB
  2. Click the Give menu on the left
  3. Click on the Schedules/History tab
  4. Click the Cancel link by the repeating gift you wish to stop


Giving Statements

How do I view my giving history or download a statement?

All gifts, whether made online or not, are logged in CCB, as long as we know who gave the gift.

  1. Login to CCB
  2. Click the Give menu on the left
  3. Click on the Schedules/History tab
  • This page will show past gifts and any scheduled repeating gifts you have
  • Primary Contacts and Spouses can view repeating gifts and transactions for their family members via the Family view tab
  • Take advantage of the quick access to your Giving Statement report
