Western welcomes Elder Le Quan Turner as guest preacher on Sunday, April 28:
Le Quan was born into a family of preachers and teachers of the gospel. At a young age, she made a public confession of her faith and was baptized. She is a Ruling Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC and served as a Seminary Student Intern at Faith Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC. She received her Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
Education and Career Highlights
Le Quan is a native Washingtonian and a product of the Prince George’s County Public School System. After graduating from high school, Le Quan earned her Associates of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Prince George’s Community College. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Language from the University of Maryland, College Park. Le Quan returned to her high school alma mater to teach American Literature and Spanish. She also exercised and sharpened her knowledge in her field of study as a middle school Language Arts teacher. Le Quan holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Development with a concentration in Training and Consulting from Bowie State University. Le Quan has been employed with the Federal government for 20 years and is currently a Program Manager with the Office of Security and Hazardous Materials Safety at the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC.
Le Quan is a world traveler and has traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally including Gambia, Senegal, Ghana, England, Spain, Morocco, Thailand, Dubai, Abu Dabi, Iceland, Australia, France, Italy, Columbia, Singapore, Indonesia, Egypt, and Japan.
She has been the recipient of numerous academic, performance, achievement, leadership, and monetary awards from both private and public organizations.
Interest and Activities
Le Quan competed and finished the 30th Annual Marine Corps Marathon; a 2 mile high, 120 mph free fall skydive. She enjoys reading, traveling, shopping, community events and spending time with family and friends.
