POLICING REFORMS and COMMUNITY RECONCILIATION
Beyond Lament – What Role for the Church?
A Few Questions for Discussion and Reflection
How can our faith inform our individual and collective positions and actions regarding the growing list of policing reforms being put forward at the national, state and local levels? What scripture can we draw on to ground our action (or inaction)?
Is it possible to have meaningful and sustainable policing reform (or anti-racist reform of other systems and institutions) without reconciliation? What does our faith teach us about reconciliation? What role can primarily-white Christian allies in the Church play in reconciling past policing practices in DC with the community today?
